Biking Trip in the Lakes district of Patagonia

Double Andes crossing mountain bike trip

Mountain Bike trip crossing the Andes mountain ridge over unbelievable border crossing passes between Argentina and Chile, through Lanin national park on Argentine territory and the Tenth Region on Chilean territory. Beautiful area with many lakes and volcanoes on northern Patagonia. Seven days pedaling the Andes through seldom used border passes combined with easy hiking discovering new cultures.

Day by day itinerary:

Day 1
reception at San Martin de los Andes airport
Transfer to Hotel – Opening meeting with tour leader and group City tour. Welcoming dinner
Overnight stay: high standard Inn


Day 2
Breakfast. We ride over different mountain bike circuits in San Martín de los Andes. We tune our mountain bikes: Arrayan circuit, Cerro Chapelco, Quila Quina
Distance: 50 km
Terrain: gravel, pavement, trails
Overnight stay: High standard Inn


Day 3
After breakfast we start our mountain bike trip mountain biking toward Curruhue grande lake, passing along Lolog lake, Curruhue Chico lake and Verde lagoon. Mountain biking through Pehuen forest (Araucarias)
Distance: 65 km -
Terrain: gravel
Overnight stay: Camping


Day 4
Breakfast. We mountain bike toward Carirriñe pass 1150 above sea level, riding along Lahuen Co, El Escorial (solified volcanic lava), Epulafquen lake then arriving to Liquiñe in Chile. We spend the afternoon at hot springs. Easy hikes in the nearby area.
Distance: 50 Km.
Terrain: Gravel
Overnight stay: Camping

Day 5
We go for a city tour in Liquiñe, we get the first sights of the Choshuenco and Villarrica. We go mountain biking along Neltume lake and Huilo Huilo waterfalls reaching Neltume
Distance: 40 Km.
Terrain: gravel
Overnight stay: modest hotel

Day 6
After breakfast we ride for a short section on our mountain bikes to Puerto (port) Fuy. We go sailing over the beautiful lake of Pirihueico. We arrive to Pirihueico port continuing our mountain biking trip to Hua Hum border pass back to Argentina. Ending our biking day by Lacar lake.
Distance: 20 Km. + 2 ½ hs on boat.
Terrain: gravel
Overnight stay: Camping


Day 7
We continue mountain biking along Lacar lake shore and forest. We sarrive to San Martín de los Andes - Celebration dinner.
Distance: 45 Km.
Terrain: gravel
Overnight stay: upstandard Inn


Day 8
breakfast at the hotel / inn. Free time to do some shopping. Transfer to airport. End of our services.
