With crystal clear, emerald color waters and amazing views of Mount Tronador, this lake is an Andean paradise spot for guided kayaking tour expeditions in south Nahuel huapí national park of northern Patagonia. It was named after "father Mascardi" an Italian catholic missionary who had his mission in this region more than 300 years ago. This is the only Andean lake that its waters flow to the Pacific ocean in this region. It has two branches in "V" shape.
